(PICTON, ON.) – On Wednesday, September 1, 2010 just after 11:00pm Prince Edward OPP officers were dispatched to a stolen 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix.  Officers located the vehicle on Century Drive with two males inside.  The vehicle was stopped and both males were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.  During the search, officers discovered what appeared to be a narcotic in the vehicle and ammunition on one of the males.  Charged are:
1)  Arthur William Joseph RUTTAN, 43 years of Picton

Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000s 354(1)(a) CCC

Possession of Firearm etc, While Prohibited s 117.01(1) CCC

 

2)  Manuel CORDEIRO, 42 years of Kingston

Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 s 354(1)(a) CCC

Possession Schedule I – Other Drugs s 4(1) CDSA

Driving While Under Suspension s 53 HTA(x2)

 

Both males are being held for a bail hearing today in Belleville.

FEMALE CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

 

(HALLOWELL, ON.) – Just before 11:00pm on Saturday August 28th a Prince Edward OPP officer on patrol observed a motor vehicle travelling erratically on Miller Road.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and returned to the detachment for testing.  Darlene JOHNSTON, 43 years of Hallowell, is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle s 253.1(a) CCC and Exceed 80mg of Alcohol in 100mL of Blood s 253.1(b) CCC and will appear in Picton Court on September 15, 2010. 

 

 

COLLISION LEADS TO CHARGE

 

(HALLOWELL, ON) Prince Edward OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision just after 10:00am on Saturday August 28th at County Road 1 and County Road 30 with one vehicle on the front lawn of a residence.  Officers arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation leading to a charge.  Edwina ROSS, 52 years of Hallowell, was charged with Careless Driving, s 130 Highway Traffic Act.

 

FEMALE CHARGED WITH RESIST ARREST

 

(PICTON, ON) – While on patrol on Main Street, Picton, a Prince Edward OPP officer observed a female exit the Mac’s Milk and stumble into the parking lot and then subsequently lean against a wall and slide down it.  The female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and she resisted arrest by pulling away and struggling with the officers.  At the detachment the female assaulted one of the officers during a search.  The officer suffered only minor injuries that did not require medical attention.  Tara ROSS, 35 years of Napanee, is charged with Resist a Peace Officer s 129(a) CCC and Assault a Peace Officer s 270(1)(a) CCC.  ROSS will appear in Picton Court on September 15, 2010.

 

24 HOUR BASEBALL GAME LEADS TO DOMESTIC CHARGES

 

(CARRYING PLACE, ON) – Prince Edward OPP responded to a domestic assault at 5:30am on August 29, 2010, that had occurred during a 24 hour baseball game in Carrying Place.  Officers investigated the incident and subsequently arrested a 19 year female from Trenton.  The female will appear for a bail hearing Monday August 30th in Belleville on charges of Assault, s 266 CCC, and Breach of Probation(x2) s 733.1(1).

 

 

 

 

 

BREAK AND ENTER

 

(AMELISABURGH WARD, ON) – Prince Edward OPP responded to a 911 call at 12:52pm to a residence in Rossmore that the caller’s ex-boyfriend had broken into her house and then proceeded to chase her around the yard.  The male left the scene on foot and the OPP Canine Unit attended and conducted a track with negative results.  The male turned himself in at the detachment later in the evening and was charged with Break and Enter a Dwelling s 348(1)(a) CCC.  The 25 year old Belleville male will appear in Picton Court on September 15th
